Associate Product Specialist

Job Opportunity

We have an exciting, entry level opportunity to join our Boston office as an Associate Product Specialist (Trainee) in our Property & Casualty lines of business in our Berxi team. You’ll learn how to provide exceptional service to our existing and prospective customers, and to drive growth through voice and email. We’re looking for problem solvers to learn how to advocate for our customers and the Berxi brand. Associate Product Specialists contribute directly to improving the Berxi experience by providing ongoing Voice of Customer and user experience feedback.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn how to educate and assist customers and prospects directly through a variety of channels, including voice, chat, and email.
  • Study, and successfully obtain your property & casualty insurance license.
  • Learn how to guide customers on insurance products and coverages based on their individual needs.
  • Under the guidance of experienced Product Specialists, become an expert in the small commercial insurance space, including but not limited to, professional liability and medical malpractice products.
  • Learn who to drive customer experience improvements by continuously surfacing Voice of Customer feedback and operational enhancements across the Berxi team.
  • Make outbound communications to obtain policy and account information.
  • Must be able to work the hours of 8AM-5:00PM, 9AM-6PM, or 11AM- 8 PM.

Business Development Manager, Outbound Sales

Job Opportunity

Berxi (www.berxi.com) is a fast-growing ‘start-up’ business unit within Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI). We are on a mission to build a modern, customer-focused, and entirely digital platform to help small businesses buy and manage their insurance smarter and faster, saving them time and money along the way.

Through a variety of sales tactics, including phone and email, the Business Development Manager, Outbound Sales will support the growth of Berxi’s customer segments and insurance products across the entire platform.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In the role, you will be provided with qualified leads and opportunities to pursue from various sources (both internal and external).
  • When calling on those leads and opportunities, you will be aiming to build rapport quickly and speak to the insurance ‘decision maker’ (often the business owner, or someone who works closely with the business owner to manage the company’s insurance needs) through a consultative sales approach.
  • You will be expected to understand and articulate Berxi’s (and BHSI’s) brand, value-proposition, and key differentiators to all interested parties.
  • You will be empowered with appropriate sales and marketing collateral, as well as cloud-based productivity tools, that will allow you to provide relevant and timely information to customers as you learn more about their business insurance wants and needs.
  • Given the role is focused on helping us find and acquire new customers, the goal from your conversations will be to ultimately have a prospective customer complete an application that could lead to a policy being purchased (i.e., a ‘bound’ policy).
  • You will be working within an entirely digital, cloud-based system – which is effectively the same experience that any potential customers you’re engaging would also be interacting with directly if they chose to do so.
  • You are expected to engage in 5-10 meaningful transactional conversations per day.

Creative Operations Manager

Job Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Creative Project Manager who will play a critical role in the organization of Berxi’s creative work interfacing with stakeholders, internal creative, and external resources for the execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns.

Orchestrating the creative development process, this role establishes best practices and processes, creates efficient resourcing, and facilitates the execution of Marketing creative projects through unified workflows for both internal and external teams. Partnering with the Creative Director, this role assigns resources based on project needs, team skill sets, budgets, and timing. You will manage project schedules, help prioritize efforts, and keep the team apprised of project status, next steps, dependencies, and forecasting.

Solution-oriented, this role is a pivotal connector role between creative and all other functions in and outside the organization. You will build relationships with stakeholders across the team to nail down sequencing, production, and approvals to help ensure the proper execution of integrated marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate would describe themselves as an organized self-starter who is curious about how things work and eager to find ways to make them more effective and efficient.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Creative Director, Marketing Team, and Partnership team to manage creative requests, scheduling, storage, and distribution of creative assets to facilitate campaigns.
  • Spearhead project management for creative development, as you effectively track and communicate prioritization, project goals, constraints, deliverables, and schedules within a cross-functional team.
  • Solve problems proactively and performs risk management to minimize project risks, including stakeholder approvals.
  • Collaborate with Creative Director and stakeholders to develop detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project; discover and close information gaps, and ensure information is complete and accurate to incorporate into Wrike (our project management platform).
  • Manage the creative production process, from concept to completion, ensuring assets (print, digital, content) are developed to a high standard within appropriate timelines.
  • Allocate and manage internal resources with direction from Creative Director and Marketing Team based on skill set and availability.
  • Champion the proper use and organization of all files and assets to appropriate platform/s to ensure data are accessible and easy to find for users.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and file management, including tracking licenses for film, photos, and music stock and releases for original artwork.
  • When required, manage the team to meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 7-10 years’ experience, including 5+ years of advertising agency project management experience.
  • Expert in cross-functional collaboration, project management, prioritization tracking, and budget tracking.
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Manager, Senior Content Marketing Strategist

Job Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Senior Content Marketing Strategist who will develop and drive Berxi’s content strategy to help achieve business goals through SEO, editorial, and social media. This multifaceted role will collaborate with the creative, marketing, and partnerships teams to build a best-in-class content marketing organization in collaboration with the Creative Director and Senior Content Manager.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help to build the Berxi brand by aligning content and promotion strategies with business priorities, using data to inform the creation of high-intent content that increases organic traffic and demand generation results.

You’ll set the strategic direction for the effective use of content at all customer touchpoints and work with UX and MarTech teams to understand customer needs and create a user-centered content strategy for the website. This role will perform regular content audits to ensure optimization of existing content as well as identify gaps and new content opportunities. The ideal candidate would describe themselves as a collaborative self-starter with a passion for creative problem solving who is also a lifelong learner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Berxi’s broader content marketing strategy to grow organic search and feed the demand gen funnel and social media platforms
  • Set goals, establish KPIs, and interpret analytics to understand performance and drive data-driven optimization recommendations
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of content performance against goals with recommendations for improvements and new opportunities
  • Manage Google Analytics and Google Search Console platforms to provide analysis and insights on website health, traffic patterns, conversion rates, customer usage & behaviour, etc.
  • Partner with Lead Gen team to develop distribution strategy, enhance organic search, and drive sales
  • Support always-on efforts to create content for Berxi’s social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Senior Data Warehouse Engineer

Job Opportunity:

Berxi is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the technical know-how to independently build solutions from start to finish. We are looking for an expert on ETL development/data modeling, who is comfortable working with TSQL and datasets of varying latencies and size, sourcing data from various disparate data providers and platforms.

As a Senior Data Engineer at Berxi, you will be on an autonomous data engineering team working closely with application engineering and senior leaders around the organization to identify needs and then design, develop, and implement the necessary data storage, automation, and integration solutions to support enterprise decisioning.

This role is part of a team responsible for the technical integrity of our processes, financial and operations analytics, as well as ad hoc delivery of data artifacts, all centered around our enterprise data warehouse. You will leverage a hybrid of cloud technologies to process data at scale, build CICD pipelines, microservices and PowerBI capabilities to deliver performant data solutions. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skill at ETL programming and a broad understanding of data integration, storage, visualization tools and data modelling. Advanced development will include producing dimensional models, data marts in support of producing timely insights. Overall, we are focused on enabling self-service data analysis for ease of reporting and analytics visualization while consistently focusing on data accessibility, efficiency, governance, performance, and integrity.

As a team of agile engineers, you and your teammates will participate in Scrum ceremonies to deliver incremental MVP business value while continuously achieving value-based services for internal and external stakeholders and partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provisioning workflows, data pipelines, extracts, ETL and integrations using REST API’s, JSON, XLS and other sources to integrate with internal data stores and systems.
  • Working on data model designs and ERD documentation to support new data sets and systems implemented around the organization.
  • In-depth analysis of existing data load, analytics, and visualization code to ensure accuracy of data flow and resolution of anomalies.
  • Identifying operational data gaps and recommending data solutions to address those gaps in a secure, performant and reliable manner.
  • Working from requests stored in a managed backlog, research and enhance specifications to develop or significantly modify data sourcing, storage and provisioning needs. Develop and/or modify effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards, as verified through peer code reviews.
  • Working through Agile sprints, participating in, and often leading, paired programming and code reviews.
  • Attending quarterly team planning sessions consisting of top-down strategic breakdown and bottom-up engineering team estimation of epics, stories, tasks and spikes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Generally, 4+ years of demonstrated professional software or data engineering experience with specialization in data modeling and business intelligence.
  • Intimate knowledge of the SQL Server stack (2016+), ETL and Transact SQL (TSQL).
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Azure with a concentration in ETL processing via Data Factory.
